PSG Facility Services explicitly design a low load operation strategy, and select chiller sizes and staged- or variable- speed pumps and fans to ensure good part load performance. Most buildings spend the bulk of their operating hours running at less than 50 percent load. Individual chillers usually become less efficient once the load falls below 50 percent. This problem is exacerbated if the chiller is over-sized. Our pumping systems and cooling tower configurations are designed to operate efficiently at low loads.
